The NEST project webinar series for 2023 begins next week
20 January 2023
Our NEST project is back with a new series of online events dedicated to education for sustainable tourism development.
The first webinar is planned for the next week on Tuesday 24 January at 16.30 CET. You can register for the event at this link FORM
The topic of this first online meeting is the impact of climate change on the tourism sector. There will be three presentations by CAST professors and researchers:
And suddenly, it rains! The effect of weather surprises on experienced utility – Paolo Figini
High tide, low price? When flooding Venice impacts on accommodation prices – Francesco Angelini
The effect of natural disasters on tourism demand, supply and labour markets: Evidence from La Palma volcano eruption – Veronica Leoni
This year’s webinar series aims to further build the capacities for development of tourism activities in line with environmental, social, and economic sustainability. The content of the events will advance knowledge and the practical implementation of novel concepts and practices in the tourism sector worldwide. Accordingly, it will work on the benefits that conscious and responsible tourism can bring to the rural communities, the natural environment and the human well-being of the communities involved in local projects.
